    Gorge 13th - 17th

We fished Sunday and Monday with great action on bruiser size kokes. We saw fish just about everywhere we went from Ranch House to Anvil Draw. The gray bite was outrageous. On Sunday, we had 6 big kokes in the box before the sun hit the horizon and were back in camp for bfast before 7:00am...

    New reports?

paying it forward The last few weeks was a real struggle on kokes until the last couple days. I'm hoping someone will share info back the next time down in a couple weeks. ~Freshie

    New reports?

hit and miss We picked away at fish over the weekend under perfect weather. Fished from Skunk Cliffs to South of Anvil Draw. Every day we found biting fish, but it was different every day. There today, gone tomorrow. Had to re-find fish every day. In the early morning, fish were biting...

    Heading out Tuesday

We're right there with you Island. Wednesday the weather was beautiful, but the slowest bite I've seen on the gorge. It was even hard to catch lakers. There were two things working for kokes: (1) - Jack, (2) - **** Cheers!

    First trip of the year...

I only saw a couple of koke marks on the finder. Didn't expect to see much at this time of year. I did see one swim by the boat down about 4 feet when setting lines. I'm using good hooks (two hook combos) on a 10lb flourocarbon leader. Those that fish w' me know my gear is pretty top shelf...

    First trip of the year...

Fished on Friday, May 13th with great weather. Embarrassing to say, caught 4 out of 17 koke strikes through the day. Of those caught, 3 were hooked just on the skin of there lip. HOLY SHORT STRIKES BATMAN! Maybe the hardest I've ever struggled for kokes on the gorge.101thumbsdown101 We...

    heres the latest from Wyoming...:)

I'm with Kokaholic. The number of by catch you have on Kokanee is pretty small. For us it's usually trolling for rainbows earlier in the year when we catch a stray one. During that time of year, the water temps are much more temperate to their liking and a lot less likely to leave one...

    heres the latest from Wyoming...:)

Having a "first caught" limit may even increase the limit. Maybe 4 or 5 fish limit?

    heres the latest from Wyoming...:)

This is a great article. As a kid, we used to travel to Canada fishing frequently. I was surprised on how different their fishing regulations were. On most popular food species, there was no size limit but was always a catch limit. On my last visit, the limit on trout was "your first 7 trout...

    Kokes with Lock Jaw?

We went down Anvil Draw to fish last Sunday and Monday. My boat found that I'm trading her in for a bigger boat and refused to idle Sunday morning. After a good carberator cleaning, she decided she still likes me. The word around the camps is that there were lots of kokes on the graph, but...

    Leader

If you're running a squid run it back 1.5X-2X the length of the dodger. If you're running a more active lure (like a billed squid, apex, spinner, etc) then you can run back a bit further from 12-24 inches. My $.02 ~Freshie

    Kokes up early...

Had great action this weekend fishing Sunday and Monday morning fishing north of Anvil Draw. Filled koke limits for everyone in camp. Fished 44-55ft down. My graph took a **** and so I was flying blind. Key was the gray bite before the sun came over the horizon. This morning was as a hot...

flaming gorge giant kokes on the fourth

We saw two bite times occurring. The first was 20 minutes before sunrise until the sun hit the water then things slowed way down. We did see a decent second bite between 9:00- 10:30. Not nearly a strong as the early morning, but still productive. We've seen this pattern quite a few times at...

flaming gorge giant kokes on the fourth

We had similar type action in the same area. We did have a hard time keeping them on the hook! It would be embarrassing to say how many came unbuttoned on us not even to mention the 8 we broke off over the 4 days... We ended up with some really great kokes (up to 22") and plenty of fish...

    How is Anvil area doing?

Sounds familiar. We fished that area Memorial Day weekend with decent success. Wasn't doing this last Monday. We'll be camping out July 2nd - 6th out at the end of point in Anvil Draw. Anyone who wants to stop by for a beer and fish tales is welcome. Look for the 16' ft Starcraft and RV...

    How is Anvil area doing?

Fished just north of Middle Marsh yesterday morning for about 90 minutes. Only a few marks on the graph and caught two small kokes. Bite overall was slow and had a time trying to find any significant concentrations of kokes. Launched at Ferry Crossing and fished around the area. I didn't...
