    Brad's Kokanee Cut Plug Bands

Looking for cheap replacement bands? Get some 1/4 inch surgical tubing and slice/cut off as many bands as you think you will break or lose. No more worries about having a replacement band with me when I start learning to use these lures.

    Do you share?

Sharing I tend to share at least some info. If the other person also shares, I usually share more. The amount I share depends in part on the attitude of the other angler and how I am approached. I have occasionally given away some lures, but that comes from special conversations.

    Spin n glo size

What size spin n glo are people using for kokanee. I was given some 3/4 inch and want to buy more. Should I stay with that size or would it be better to downsize? Thank you.

    Montana blades

I recently discovered a blade called the "Montana" blade. It is essentially a flat coil that stretches out and rotates around the beads as it is pulled through the water. The blades are often used on walleye lures. They do have some interesting colors available. Has anyone used them in place of...

Spit balling ideas for the future

trolling on small pond How about using one of the radio controlled boats? I saw one that was advertised as a fishing boat with 4 pound line. It might also work on the still water below the spillway at CJ.

    Use the color blue?

Since some of us now turn to making rather than using/losing tackle, has anyone had very good luck using blue lures for kokanee? Blue is supposed to be visible deeper than red, so I was just wondering if it might be a good color to try next year. Thoughts or experience?

2020 Lucky Peak Reservoir Kokanee Report

small kokanee I know we would all like to catch bigger fish, but if there are no small ones there won't be any big ones. It is encouraging to hear that there are now small kokanee being caught in Lucky Peak. Could that be a sign of a future return of good times?

    New for 2020?

Shrimp I was thinking about a bag of frozen shrimp and just putting on a small piece. It might stay on better than corn and maybe even get more than one fish.

    New for 2020?

Shrimp I was thinking about using some pieces of shrimp instead of corn with scent. Anybody tried that? Did it work? Shrimp and krill scent from Pro-cure seems to work well, so I am thinking I might try actual pieces of shrimp. Thoughts?

    Warm Lake

I fished Warm Lake several times this summer. Mostly 10 to 12 inch rainbows and smaller kokanee. I always caught fish, but not anything of great size. The skiers were polite, so I had a good time on the water each time I went. I fished during the week and not on weekends.

2019 Anderson Ranch Reservoir Kokanee Fishing Report

Add a snubber I still use weight, blades, and a spinner much of the time. Putting a snubber between the troll and the spinner has helped me keep more fish on the line. Although I do have a downrigger, I like to move my rod forward and backward to induce a bite. The change in motion is...

2019 Anderson Ranch Reservoir Kokanee Fishing Report

I use a small three bladed troll and spinner that I make, let out 100 ft of line, and catch fish near the surface. I troll at about 1.5 mph according to my plotter. I have never had problems with my troll coming up and splashing. What kind of blade are you using? I have done the same thing...
