I have never heard that trickle charging will decrease the life of your batteries? I thought that the trickle charger was good for the battery?

I took the downrigger apart, couldn't see any thing wrong. Put it back together and ran my downriggers to a battery by itself,(it was hooked up to the fish finder and the engine. Currently everthing is working fine. Thanks guys for all your help.

One of my electric down riggers is not working correctly. The clutch is not letting the ball drop. Is there someone in the Boise Idaho area that works on these? any suggestions? Thanks
