Kokanee Nation on Chelan: Pic heavy

In the peaks-and-valleys course of kokanee fisheries,we're definitely in a "peak" on Lake Chelan. Here's a quick pictorial glimpse of a couple of days of kokanee catching on Chelan, where fish in the 15- to 16-inch range are a nice 2012 break from the usual crop of 9-inchers. Not a...

Kokanee Nation Q&A with Vance Staplin - Questions, anyone?!?

We're all looking forward to this Saturday's chat with kokanee-fishing pioneer VANCE STAPLIN on our Kokanee Nation segment on Northwest Wild Country. Chatting with Vance about kokanee is like chatting about swimbaits with Mike Long or tuna tackle with Tred Barta: I live the conversation...

Kokanee Nation's "Early Season Tech" Pro Cam

Thanks Mr.Mike - Can't even really begin to cover the whole subject in 12 to 15 minutes, but we're doing our best to jam in as much info as possible. This is all meant to be functional for the beginning to intermediate angler, but the next two weeks' "DodgerOlogy 101" and "DodgerOlogy 201" Pro...

Kokanee Nation's "Early Season Tech" Pro Cam

Still struggling a little with colder-than-normal water. We all thought things were about to bust loose here in Western Washington thanks to a couple of days of sunshing ... and then this drizzly shizzle. Here's some early-season koke info, courtesy of Northwest Wild Country and our KOKANEE...

    American Lake, Easter Morning success

Instead of hunting Easter eggs, the Kokanee Nation brigadier general Zog hit American Lake for a couple of hours of quick trolling with Cousin Dickie and Bravo. Yep, as reported, water's still cold (and so was the air, as evidenced by Bravo's ... eh ... "purty" hat). One fish ... However, as...

Greetings, Kokanee Nation - A schedule

Thanks for the comments, fellas! Here's a little glimpse of our Pro Cam from last week: It's Kokanee Gear 101, Herzog on rods, reels and line. Pretty Simple Simon for most of you, but a good starting point for new kokanee anglers. http://tinyurl.com/KokaneeGear101 Anybody have any thoughts...

    Palmer Lake limit reduced

It's my understanding that Palmer Lake saw roughly 30 to 40 percent of its historical number of mating pairs this past fall, which is due cause for concern. I've heard whispers of this reduced bag limit, too, but as Curt points out, we'll have to see how vaild that chatter is. JS/NWWC

Greetings, Kokanee Nation - A schedule

My thanks to Jason and all the great boys and girls involved in KFF.com for the warm welcome - neat forum, looking forward to being part of it. One of our longtime NW Wild Country listeners/viewers eenakoK (thanks D.B.) already introduced Kokanee Nation to everyone here, but I wanted to give...
