Had a Great Fathers Day of Kokanee Fishin with Dad at Berryessa yesterday
perfect timing. had a fiery need to get into some of them fatties lately. with report after report coming in and I've been busy. and on Fathers Day to boot - no better timing.
MJCook Whacked em with Limit Stick the day prior and hooked up some good intel.
Same Pattern - marked fish all over, and mostly 34-48', fished those depths and most of the biters came
at 37-40', more specifically mostly 38'
the usual areas
fished mostly off on our own, aside from some passers by.
slow start, 1 fish in the first 1.5 hours, but when we found them it was steady and we finished at 9:45 with limits of mostly a great grade of fish to 18". with a couple juvies in there.
the fatties are fighting like gorge fish - aside from the times I've been there, I've never had kokanee peel line like a few of these did today.
GIRTHY - the fatties are 3+ inches across the back - they look funny coming in with thier nose down just under the surface - a blueish green nerf football hehehe then they say no thanks and peel another 20 yards
Pink/Red/Orange stuff behind a 5.5" Bahama Mama RMT Dodger. All Day.
I ran this stuff...
(forgot to include the Orange Apex that didnt get any love)
Dad ran similar.
All my fish came on this stuff, and Dad's on similar stuff.
The fish are lookin goooood these days
