How often have all three reservoirs been filled in the last few years? Even if it were a good idea (and I don't think it is), there may not be enough winter precipitation to justify the expense of building additional capacity.

don't mean to jump in a different direction than above, but has anyone seen the water levels of lucky peak and/or arrowrock? I want to try out arrowrock on fri, but am unsure of the water level, or ice situation. I could hit lucky peak, but I haven't fished it much, and don't really know the fish like I do at arrowrock.

I swung by Lucky Peak a week ago Sunday and it was down over 100'. There was one boat trolling in front of Viewpoint but I did not stick around to see if he was catching anything.

I did talk to one person who fished Goose Neck mid-week last week. Said he caught 5 in the 12-13" range longlining 10' down with orange/pink. Running at <1 mph because the water is so cold.

Water/boat ramp levels can be found here:

For some reason Arrowrock is filling fast and they have slowed Lucky Peak.

Same thing last year. we went up march 10th, and lucky peak was down 50-60 feet. Arrowrock was about to overflow. thanks

I guess I was looking at historical data and LP was lower than normal...I don't pay much attention to Arrowrock as I catch more pikeminnows than anything there.......

I rarely catch pikeminnows in the early season. By the time they start to bite, I'm up at Anderson every weekend. Right now is the time to hit arrowrock. I wanna try lucky peak, but its always windy, and so much traffic.

It's been fairly windy here so I would have thought it it would be the same at LP an Arrowrock. There has been few boats on LP the last couple of times I drove by.

Arrowrock is a good fishery....if you want your truck broken into or trailer parts poached while you're out on the water.

Lucky Peak is also a good fishery, but can be challenging with all the "I can afford a ski boat zombies, but know nothing about boating rules or etiquette....or care about anyone except me" folks.

You're right....early is better for both reservoirs....then get out to somewhere else.

went up yesterday. Beautiful day, but the koks were not biting. The road was also beautiful. I don't know how many of you went up there last spring, but you literally had to do 5-10 mph. I was able to keep a good speed, hardly any potholes. Water temp was 39*, and I marked 3 schools all day long at around 60 feet. I tried shallow, deep, fast, slow, green, pink, orange, red, black, and everything in between. No bits from the koks. I did catch 4 trout, but whatever. I just let em go. Hopfully the water temp raises a bit in the next week or two.

Drove up to LP this afternoon. The water was like glass, temp was perfect. There were a couple of boats trolling. Didn't get a chance to talk with anyone about their luck. Wishing my boat was here in Boise right now.

Yeah someone cut my straps on my trailer last year, no idea why, nothing else missing but it wasn't very cool.

We looked at other trailers they were all good, was just ours.

huh, I have never had a problem at arrowrock. most people are real nice. but you can find the random asshole pretty much everywhere. I like it because the wind is usually less than at lp, and less traffic.

On another note, anyone been to lp lately? I want to get in an afternoon trip today, but with no bite at arrowrock on wed, I might try lp. Is it better by the dam, or by the marina this time of year?

When I go fishing I pack my .45. If I ever catch somebody messing with my stuff, I would be happy to give them some free lead.

Looking forward to getting my boat ready to go fishing over the next week or two. Waiting to buy a Minnesota Kota Ulterra 112 36v so I can troll longer and track where I'm catching fish and have the boat automatically retrace the track for me..

Drove up to LP this morning after I had a good breakfast at Golden Coral. The rain was stop and there were few fishing boats on the reservoir (there were 5 trucks with boat trailers on the ram). Sat in the the car watching couple boats trolling by the dam area. Didn't see anyone catching fish in about an hour. I took few pictures and went home. I hope will have sometime next week to take my boat to LP.
