Fished yesterday 10am until 7pm. First hit was about 10:45 or so, a 15" lake trout on the deepest line: pink hoochie on a silver/pink dodger. Slow for a while after that until about 3pm and then we had a few frenzies of fish, all caught on north side of lake. All told, 8 fish in the boat, 3 trout and 5 kokes.

Brings up old memories.

Used to fish Lake Almanor a few decades ago and we would fish the springs at 4-4:30 until sunup and once it was light enough to see it looked like a blanket of mini-marshmallows on the surface. Missed strikes from monster rainbows where they spit it out I guess. The real secret was canned corn but F&G told us trout could not digest it so all the catch and release folks quit using it.

Fished today, Sunday from 11:00Am to 4:pM and caught only two Koke in 35 minutes by the dam. One on DR at 15' and wife caught a 15" Kok on long liner (Ford fender + wedding ring + white corn.) Then we trolled from the dam up to Pipeline Gulch, and Goose Neck Bay with no bite.
Beached the boat at Goose Neck Bay, took the driver seat out and I had a really good nap.

It's On

We've been focusing an Anderson this year but took a couple friends who had never been kokanee fishing to Lucky Peak yesterday. Judging by what I saw caught I'd say there are many more readers than posters on this site. My friends just could not get the hang of it and lost at least 30 fish due to fish fighting operator error. We did come home with two limits of nice fish. I saw many, many, many fish caught by other boats as well. You'd never know it from the postings here, but it is "on" at LP.

Salmonster,
Did you fish near the dam or closer to spring shores. I hope to go up Tuesday and I'm so glad to hear it has picked up since Mid April when I was last up to LP.

today at LP cold and windy till noon - had 6 hits and landed only 2 - 15 inchers - lots of boats - didn't see many nets in the water -heard from 0 to 3 - but im sure somebody got into em - all the counties had their training today - kind of noisey

Fished from 9:30am to about 3pm. Had 3 hits and landed 1 good sized trout and 1 small (8" kok) that we released. Went from the marina to the dam. Saw 1 or 2 other boats land a fish but not much action today.

Fished LP yesterday from 8a-2p from Barclay past the dam up to the bend. It was pretty choppy until noonish. We had 2 hits but didn't land any fish. Tried everything in the box except the blue herring juice. One hit was on a silver Kokabow flasher and pink spinner, the other was on a pink worm behind a silver flasher. Plenty of fish on the HUD, just couldn't get them to take anything. Most of them were congregated by the dam.
