Fish size has been down in recent year, but this is still a very popular koke fishery. Maybe there will be some sockeye moving upstream this year???

No reports yet??? Alright I actually have know idea when this fishery starts up but I guarantee a full report from my first trip to this lake ever March 4-6. Mainly targeting C&R bull trout but thinking we will try for a few kokes for dinner some night. Feel free to PM me with any good info I promise to only share with two co-workers that don't have boats and live in SW Washington.

Talked to a guy today that fished last weekend for kokanee. Once he found them did pretty good 60' to 80' deep. Fish were 10" to 12" and most caught on micro hoochies.

Hey thanks DB! This is a whole new game for me. Sounds like I'm at least equipped properly - Lowrance, downriggers and hoochies. I should be able to find them on the fish TV and have the ability to target that depth with the downriggers. Now just to find a willing biter in the group!

Do you know if he was trolling or jigging? I've done some reading on the jigging for them but I don't actually have the lures to do the jigging game. I'm sure Cove Palisades marina would be happy to sell me some stuff if need be.

Thanks again

He was trolling. Never hurts to have a couple of pink & white Gibbs minnows to cast to jumpers if you see them. That is deadly at times. He said all of the schools he marked were deep and in the same neighborhood. You should do fine with the gear you have, just have to find them. Good luck!

I was there a month ago. (Sorry a little late for a report)Found fish at 80' for easy limit. Fish were very lathargic and whimpy fighters due to the cold weather. Two of the fish were this years fish and had bright blood red meat.
I'm either going to LBC or GP Saturday. So I will be giving a report on whichever one I go to. I'm conflicted though. The fish at GP are more active this time of year but I would have a chance at a bull if I go to LBC. Either way I'm getting to the high lakes! Can't wait!

Fished last weekend for bulls and it was pretty slow. Boated 6 with only 1 keeper about 25" or so. Most of the others 16-20". Saw a good bite early in the day and then it died. We targeted suspended fish in deep water. Really nice weather this week should help move more fish into shallower water. Most kokanee marked 60-100', hardly any jumpers. Good luck!

Talked with a friend today fished three days on the medilious arm water was 37 degree he was blanked nothing/ water very cold said he seen two kokanee jump in three days nothing for bull trout he a good fisherman has a place up there some where it changed my plans he said he going back next week 37 d3gree is cooooold

Last Saturday we had 41-43 degree water throughout the day. Fished from a little after 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM for 10 bites. Bite seemed to be best at 80'.

The campground on top of the hill (before you drop down) is open. The one on the Deschutes arm closed. Not sure about Perry South.

If you are thinking about jigging for kokanee you should check out The Lure Guys they are out of Salem they make custom jigs for all the Oregon lakes and then some they have a list of which ones do good at different lakes hope this helps

6:30-2:00 Sunday. Fishing was slow as everyone has said. No bulls for us. Hooked 10 kokes but lost all but 3. Did see guys at the dock with two keeper bulls. They caught five casting rapalas. Wind was heavy most of the day and the fish were scattered. Sun was out and it was beautiful!
