We finally got up to the Gorge yesterday as we knew the weather wasn't going to be any better for a while. The Kokes were scattered throughout the lake but you could see them in small pods 8-10 fish clusters-average depth was about 40-42 feet. we also saw a few stacked in columns. We got a great start but then the fishing shut off for a couple of hours. It picked back up later letting us get our limit quickly after loosing 5-6 throughout the day. Above the pipeline in the Anvil area was dead calm, but coming down into the pipeline produced breezes-and more fish! we were trolling along for about 2 hours at one point half asleep before we almost lost a pole due to the hit that was put down on us! We quickly boated 2 more to put into the box and quit around 3pm.
We were using Sunshine Glow squids-(excellent squid!) from Christensens along with some green ones-(I can't rememeber the name-Green glow?) with silver/blue/silver green dodgers. We also had great luck on RMT pink squids and the rainbow assassins with Shattered glass dodgers. Sorry Art didnt get to your stuff this trip too many tackle boxes and so little time!
Weather was dead calm around Anvil, but breezy at the pipeline and below. The pipeline is a good place to fish during this weather if you can hold a course in it-ours is like a kite sometimes.
Here are some pics, very rare to be this calm early in the year-
