Headed out Saturday afternoon - good size rain storm between Lyman and Green River - arrived at the gravel road /free beach camping 1/3 mile east Buckboard about 6 p.m. Boat inspection by a nice lady named Julia and found a piece of shoreline - wind blowing, rain on and off through out the night - no fishing till morning.
Sunday - got a slow start and didn't drop the first line until 8:30 - slow due to some really big and bad looking clouds - caught one 21" koke keeper and then headed for cover because the wind and rain were coming - got up the ramp just as the sprinkles started - relaxed in the parking lot until 1:30 then a small break in the weather - relaunched and headed straight across the channel to the far wall - dropped the lines and started trolling with the wind - had two hard hits that both did a long line releases just as the wind blew us off the lake - back to the launch as the wind really picked up. Wind never let up then rest of the day - back to the beach to camp - got a great spot to watch the fireworks - those shore campers put on a great fireworks show for couple hours after sunset.
Monday - SUNNY - headed to Holmes Crossing - launched at 6:30 - caught 10 within 90 mins - kept 5 all over 20" and then headed to the launch. Got everything road ready and then the wind started to blow - headed to Buckboard to clean the fish and asked a guy from Green River where was a good place to eat breakfast - he pointed us to the Cafe in the bowling alley just as you come into town from the South. Good food and Great Service!!
Fish caught between 25' and 45'.
Hot lure was the RMT pink U.V. Squid.
Going to smoke these fish - they should be great!!
