I wasn’t feeling to well so I stayed close to home fishing Clear Lake (Pierce County). I started at 9:50am and finished 12:40pm. It rained the whole time I was fishing and I only got bites when it slacked off. It was hard to find the fish, too. The 4 ospreys and 2 eagles were out. The ospreys would get the fish and the eagles would try to steal them away. It was very interesting to watch. I had 2 bites on a Bloody Mary at 10 feet right off but then it was ssllooww. Really I am use to getting them fast so I suppose this is what normal is. I switched out lures a few times. Found that I got a few more hits on a yellow splattered dodger and a Wannafish A Lure yellow Squiddy Thang with a hammered nickel blade at 25-30 feet. Any where from 40-90 feet of water. I used bait of shoepeg corn and Berkeley maggots. Except for the first 2 bites I did not have any fish hit shallow. I came home with 3 kokes and a lot of rain water. I had my rain coat on but no rain pants.
We were so wet I thought I was going to start bailing the water out of Old Girl (my boat).
