I saw a post last year on the board about Action Disc hoochie . Has anyone done some extensive experimentation during the 2009 season with them ? What were the results ? Thanks if you have time to respond .

I don't know about the Action Disk hoochie, but I've used "Smile Blades". Maybe it's the same thing except for the name. I can't say the smile blades have been a success..I haven't figured out how to tie them correctly to make them dance. The one I like is the Wiggle Hoochie from Shasta Tackle. That one wobbles a lot and catches quite a few fish.

I don't know if everybody else has a lure that is hot for everyone else but sucks for them but for me, that is hootchies in general. It doesn't seem to matter what I put in front of them or how many fish everyone else is catching with them. I stink with hootchies.

I use wigglefins all of the time while trolling for Triploids and do much better using them than I do without. I'll be picking up a bunch more this spring to use for Lake Chelan Kokanee and I see that wigglefin now has a setup made just for Kokanee. (Photo Below) I think I'll give it a shot. Here's a link to the wigglefin web site: http://www.wigglefin.com/ it's a great site with several movies showing how the wigglefins work.

I hear what your saying Dave. I've used them a few times over the years, but have alot more confidence in other lures I guess. I think it really depends on the particular lake and what the fish what. As far as the Action Disk, I would think the additional movement it creates would be a good thing when their looking for something a bit different.
While were on the subject of giving lures additional action, has anyone had experiance with this blade: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/t...parentType=index&indexId=cat601233&hasJS=true

something new.
i've tied up some double hook setups with a long shank front hook with 1 1/2" long maribou on it in pink and in green for this years koke fishing to go behind an Action Disc. tied on stiff 15lb floro for max. action.
hoping to entice some of the landlocked chinooks also

have been using something similar on the big triploids at Rufus Woods in black or dk green maribou or rabbit fur strips, can be a killer on them. real crazy action
not much of a fish to eat though

Your mail most be faster...I haven't recieved my catalog yet.crymeariver
If you need help spending any more money just let me know. You know you messed up though... you could have saved 6 cents a blade if you had ordered a quantity of 500! thumbsup
Those blades do look interesting to use ahead of a spinner or hoochie. Did you check out the video link on the website I listed in the post above?

I got the Catalog last week! I think they saw my name & rembered how many $$$ I spent last year!

And I did think about the 500 order but then I'd have to buy a couple new tackle boxes to put them in, then a bigger boat to put the new tackle boxes in and then a new truck to pull the whole thing so I thought I'd just start out with 50 to keep it simple!.........laugh hyst...........Kokonuts

Hey, I got a couple of dollars. I sure can use some blades. I'm getting a new tackle bag but keeping my boat & truck.

BigD

Here is a youtube video that shows underwater video of ActionDiscs being trolled with a bunch of different baits at different speeds. It really demonstrates the different types of action you can get for specific applications.

I'll be at the Pasco show this weekend, then Portland and Boise in Feb. That's as much as I can do this year.
