Well with the expected sun and warmer weather, it was set that we were going to make it to American. We got up this morning to strong wind and cloudy (go figure).
We got on the water around 9:30 and starting trolling. There was absolutely nothing going on except dealing with the wind. Around 11 my wife brought my daughter to me after ballet was finished. We got back fishing and I got a call that they had just put there gear in and caught a fish. It was a nice looking trout. The sun broke out and I lowered my gear down to 15' and within 10 seconds the pole went off. It was a nice 14" kokanee.

There was nothing after that and no one else was catching anything either who I was talking to. My dad had to get back to Seattle and so we called it a day. I can't think of a better way of spending the day than with my dad nad kids. I am looking forward to when the water warms a little more and from the size of this fish, it could be a fun year.

It was good seeing everyone on the lake!

Nice Dave, way to get it done and a great day to be on the water with family. That's a start and it's better then a skunk. Let's hope things keep warming up, and yes, Mark text me a pic of that fish... Ha

MD - yes, that was quite the fish. In there fashion, it was as soon as they got on the water.. It is good to spend time with the kids on the water.. They LOVE it! They are already asking to go next weekend.

Anyone know of a giant heat lamp?

Nice job getting the young lady into a fish Dave.

The lakes are still a little too cool but a few more nice days like today will get more of them in the mood.

The Kokanee Dominator and I were on the hunt today. Recent reports a grim, but if ya got to go, then go! After launching we rig up and set out our gear. Maybe 30 second later "KD" yells "Here we go"! I think no &*%$#@! WAY! And look over to see his tica super ultra light bent over hard. After a fight I put this in the net for him.

Good to see ya on the water DB! Boat is looking good. And I think that lil girl of your should hold on to those glasses. Those glasses might seal the deal for the biggest koke of the year thumbsup
Thank's for letting me piggyback your thread DB Tup:

At least you gentlemen caught fish, I also hit the water from 1245pm-430pm and other than fighting the wind and trying everything in the boat I came up with nothing. I trolled around the whole lake shallow and deep. I wasn’t marking many fish in fact it was like a dead sea on the fishfinder. I drug my gear 18 feet and up most of the day and nothing. Water temp for me was 44.8 to 45.3. Although it was a beautiful day out on the water, nice trout kokanee kid, DB tell your girl nice koke.

I did see these maybe all the kokes are here doing UFC!laugh hyst

At least it was a beautiful evening

I was out there for about an hour yesterday evening. Really went out to test the boat repairs before the trout opener next month but dropped a line for a little while as well. Nothing, not even a bump. My depth finder marked 2 fish north of Silcox. Flatlined one rig and went down 20 on the downrigger for the other. One other boat out fishing. came in right at dusk when the park closes. Still absolutely gorgeous out there and the wind was down for me by the time I got there. Boat did run well though. So if I may ask, what seems to be the hot ticket out there?

The one fish we got was everything UV, UV dodger and UV clear squid.. But to be honest, that doesnt change much for me all season long.

eenakok and Kokanee Kid, Awesome Reports and Great Pics!! Beautiful Weather - wish I could have made it out there this weekend.

Sorry that you couldnt make it out, we gotta hook up and fish soon!

Nice to see the kids getting out on the water. Maybe cabin fever got the best of you. But on the bright side your one up on me this year, plus I haven't had fresh Kokanee since October you lucky guy.

Hey Dave nice report. I was also out on the lake and nothing for me. That was the most boats on the lake Ive seen since last year. Everyone I talked to said it was dead. I wonder if I ran into a few of you guys? Who knows. Anyway, nice fish you two!
