On Monday, Oct 27, there was a break in the rain. Since the rivers were high and muddy, I decided to fish American Lake. Visibility was 10 feet or more. Initially started trolling in 60 feet of water near the island with downriggers set at 30 feet. Pulling trout colored needlefish behind an eight inch chrome flasher. Nothing for a few hours. Ditched the flasher and went to a small orange spinner and raised the downrigger to 20 feet. Five hookups in an hour and half. Lost one near the net but boated four others. One nice kokanee at 16 1/2 inches and three keeper rainbows.
