Fished American from 7:00 A/M to 12:00 P/M, threw my arsenal at them and not even a bump. The water temp is still pretty cool at about 40 degrees. I was marking a lot of fish but they were scattered at depths ranging from 5 to 25ft. A week of warmer weather should hopefully bring the temp closer to the 50 degree range and the Koks should start getting more active. Guess Merwin is the place to be to catch Koks this time of year.

where at

Was it windy? The weather report said that it was 10MPH.

You threw the arsenal at them. Was it in the usual places?

Maybe new area

I have been thinking that maybe they might be in other areas. Not in the usual areas. They moved to different areas as the water warms. Could they move to different areas when it is cold?

101goodpost101awesomereportKokanee Slayer, thanks for the report. I have been kicking myself for the last couple of days looking out and seeing some sun, thinking i should try it at American Lake. Your report soothed my guilt feelings.

Showing my ignorance of that lake, I wonder if the water temp is any higher in the shallower part of the lake at the southern end, and if so maybe they will bite there. Anyway thanks for a very useful report. I guess maybe Merwin is the place to give it a try.

Good thoughts..Kokannee-Toni and Rodgerdodger, I fished some towards the South side of Silcox and checked water temp when I launched at Russell Landing and the water temp was consistent with the rest of the lake.
