Koknee_Slayer and I started fishing around 8:30am. The water temperature was 44. The air temp was about 35 without any wind. The sun was out after a full moon during the night.
We fished from near the Veterans’ Hospital area to the east end of the lake. From the island to near the other shore by the north park launch. The only take down was a rainbow of about 10 inches that was released. It came on my new to me rod and reel using a Dick Nite dodger with a Wannafish A Lure creation.
We quit fishing at 1pm. The water temp raised to 46 by then and the wind kicked up. My weather app said it was from the NE at 9mph. It was a nice day but slow catching.

If those hold true, it should be a great time by the middle of the week! Lets hope so!!

Toni - Great report and I am glad that you were able to catch a fish on your new gear!

I tried American Lake today (4/8/2012) from about 1030AM to 130PM ,north of the Island to near the north launch, pink hoochie, slingblade, corn and maggot, 12 to 40 feet depth on downrigger, 0.9 to 1.2 MPH, in 45-85 ft of water, water temp 46 degrees; no bites, couldnt see any fish on the screen but i am still learning to use the fishfinder. Given i fished at probly the wrong time right in the middle of the day, it was still discouraging. May try it middle of next week if weather stays warm.

We hit American Saturday 4/7. We started at 8 and got off the lake at 3. Long day. I caught a 14" rainbow on 3" silver/colored dots dodger and a micro smile blade (red) tipped with pink corn. Hit at 13'-14'. Fish finder is starting to mark some small schools later in the day. No kokes where brought in. although we had a hit or two. Water temps read 47.8 when we got off the lake.

Kokanee-Toni,
Always a pleasure and it was nice seeing you pull one in on that new rod. Unlike me, at least you didn't get skunked but you normally out fish me anyhow.LOL
