I hopped aboard Kokanee_Slayers boat at 5:40 am. We started fishing round 6am. He got the first kokanee then I got one. First kokanee of the year for me!!! Thank you Jesus!
We ended about 7:30am with 2 kokanee each and I got a large trout. My gear was Bahama mammas with a Wannafish A Lure mini Bloody Mary and a new Pink Splatter Squiddy Thing.

We quit at 7:30 am in order to go back to Russell’s Landing and let me hop onto Kokonuts boat and to pick up the Wounded Veterans for the Wounded Veterans Fishing Program. Kelli went with us. We got one hit and it stuck. I was so excited ‘cause it was big. This was Kelli’s first kokanee. She kept reeling and reeling and it wasn’t coming in. I had to tighten the drag because this was a heavy fish. I was amazed. She got it to the boat and it was netted! AWESOME. We stopped just before noon to get back for the picnic. That fish was caught on a Dick Nite Pink Splatter dodger with a new Wannafish A Lure Pink Splatter Squiddy Thing. We did use bait of shoe peg corn and maggots. It was partly cloudy with either no wind or a slight breeze. Water temp was 53 degrees and our average speed for trolling was 1.2 mph. Prefishing in the morning I was 65 pulls back flat lining. The big one was about 40 feet down at 40 pulls.

Thank you Kokonuts for the opportunity and I want to thank everyone for letting me be involved.
nananana Oh yes, love to that Kokanee Kid who told us how deep to go!

Wounded Veterans Fishing Day

I want to thank all who helped. A secial thanks to Master Sargent Darren Nixon, our on post sponsor, and Dan Gabriel of VFW Post 318 Olympia. It would not have happened without thier help.I also want to include our donor of t shirts, Pautzkes baits, and the gentelman that brought the donuts for breakfast. EENAKOK brought the t shirts. My mind is a blank on the rest.
Help me out of this jam.

My request for fish went astray. I must have forgotten to specify KOKs.
The weather was good. Thank you Pretty Woman.
Help Me with pictures. I'm a poor photographer. And I was Busy.(enough excuses)
Chris

Thank you very much for setting this up. It was a great time. I know the fish weren't very cooperative, but I think that everyone had a great time. The pics should be emailed out soon.

Thanks again!

Wounded Warriors

This was a great event, and I was happy to help. I want to thank Chris for coming up with the idea and providing lunch and Dan for getting ball rolling with the Wounded Warriors. It was great day of fishing and we got to see everyone off the forum again and meet new friends and warriors. Me and my WW caught lots of trout and managed one Fat Koke off a custom lure eenakok gave me at lunch. Once again I want to thank everyone who helped support and provided boats for the Wounded Warriors.
Also thanks to the people and sponsors who provided tackle and shirts for the Wounded Warriors.

I heard talk about next year possibly at Riffe, count me in.

PS who has the morning group photo?

WE HAD A BLAST!!!! Our Wounded Warrior caught his first kokanee ever! Followed by several more! Then the bite went off. My lil bro called me and said they had found the trout, and our vet said let's go. He just wanted to catch fish did not matter to him what they were. He caught a BUNCH of fish and had lots of fun and laugh's. He did share with us his scars from a improvised explosive device, all I can say is it was an honor to fish with him! Guy's and gal's like him serving our country so we can do what we like to do. I would be hnored to do this again!!!

And Toni I thought I told you to fish on the bottom fencing

I had a GREAT TIME as well!!! John, the Vet who was with me, had his first experience lake fishing in Washington and got to reel in a bunch of Bows. Thanks to all of you who helped put this together and made it an outstanding event. I know it meant a lot to these brave men and women. As an added bonus, I had the pleasure to meet a bunch of fellow anglers from the forum.

Hey All,

Great time! Lee and Frank in my boat. Only one fish until Frank got out then a limit for Lee.

Let's not forget we don't have to have an event to take out a wounded vet. I know many of you folks fish American a LOT. I know 'cause I fish American a LOT and recognize many of you.

It was really nice to put names to faces, I've seen many of you out there before. I'll be out again next Saturday with a couple of vets, so if you see us give us a shout. Perch (the other, other [not walleye] white meat) should be getting hot pretty soon.

And yes, my beautiful Wife did come through on the weather!!!

Salutes to all.

I had the distinct pleasure of fishing with a Wounded Warrior this past Saturday and I had a blast. Got to talk about his miltary service, our families, fishing, and what life gives us to deal with to make us better folks.

"Thanks" to the folks that organized this, and "Thanks" to the military servicemen and women that came out to share in a passion we so much enjoy!

Looks like everyone had a good time. I wish I could have gone. School is just now winding down. Perhaps next time. Good job everyone!
