Put the furlough day to good use again and met up with MinnowMagnet86 to try and put some filets on the table to keep my wife happy.
First ones at the ramp at 510...
Lines wet at 530...
We were greeted by a nice sunrise under the marine layer that kept us nice and cool...
Couple quick drive bys and some good marks but no action in the first hour.
We picked up and moved locales...
While i went to set the downrigger ball down i noticed it had twisted up and got a kink...never had this happen before and it didnt look too bad...
Well it was that bad...and pop there goes the weight...
So one hour into fishing we are already handicapped...bummer
Set the rods and we pick up a 15" fairly quick on a RMT Bahama Mama with a UV pink hoochie @ 50'...
A steady pick of 12" but not what we were after...and quickly shook the ones that were lighty hooked. Boxed a couple bleeders...
Still on the hunt we are dinking around in the boat of us not payin attention....
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...clicker goes nuts...WOAH!!
I grab the rod and this fish puts up a good fight and in the net he goes...
We are excited and thats what we came for...
Well it was still dink city after that and could not get any more decent fish...
Puzzled with what we were doin wrong i throw on a Chartruese RGT Spinner i tied up myself and it got whacked at 65' just as we were about to pull the plug...
Fought a little different than the koke but just as hard if not harder runs...
A nice King pushin 18" with his gills full of copepods...nastay...
In the box he went and we called it a day...
Fished from 45-75 feet today.
Fish caught on pink, orange and chartruese...
Although the quality wasnt as abundant as we would like it to be...we still had a blast and got just enough kokaine to keep us coming back for more...(and go to the store and buy more gear)
