Burbot in June?

Has anyone heard of catching them this time of year or are they just too deep and inactive?

We planted a crawfish trip in 60 feet of water on Memorial Day weekend. What we caught in the trap was one 3 lb burbot...

Sounds like you still did better than me. I placed my crawfish trap out and only brought in 6 of them. I just let them go since that's not even enough to warrant boiling the water.

The water is still a bit cold. We planted the trap in 24ft the next day and caught 8. Trying to figure out where to put the traps in early season to make them pay.

Does anyone have some hints for finding them in early season?
