Oregon is there

Sorry to see it, Oregon is doing this also. I talked to the Sheriff's Office were I am from about it and they hope that Fish and wildlife would go to a sticker system like the registration so they could tell if you were current with out having to make contact. Since it will be the SO's job for enforcment in Oregon.

The one, (and only, in my opinion), thing that Oregon is doing right about this is that they are incorporating this fee/tax in your boat license registration. This will save all of the Oregon residents with a motorized boat a lot of trouble. Unfortunately, it does nothing for out of staters that fish here, and it really sets up the canoe's and kayak's and other such nonmotorized watercraft that have never needed a license in the past, for a hefty fine. This whole thing has not been handled right here in Oregon. I have had mixed results when inquiring with the sheriffs dept about this program. Typically, when speaking with an officer from Multnomah Co. or some other high population area, I get an "I don't care what you think or if this makes sense, I'm going to collect my revenues from whoever falls victim to this". And when speaking with officers from more rural regions, I get a response anywhere from, "well, not sure how we're going to handle it in the future but for now it will mostly be simple warnings" to "this has got to be about the dumbest law I've ever seen and I'm only going to enforce it as much as I have to until our state can get this whole mess straightened out". Needless to say, I much prefer the attitude from the rural cops by far and away over the urban one's. Like it or not I will comply, but I sure feel for the poor souls who haven't heard the news in time to save themselves whatever the fine will be. I think this whole mess could have been made much easier had they just changed the rules to say that all boats 10ft and above must have a license and then incorporate the fee into that registration. I guess that would be too simple.

It's just another tax straight out. Idaho has incorporated it into their registration this year. Last year it was a sticker. I've yet to see any migratory waterfowl that can carry mussels from one water to the next with a stamp. I don't mind paying the fees to fish however. It seems like a small price next to tens of thousands for boats, trucks and tackle. 101horse101

PAT YOU ON THE BACK FOR THAT POST!!!!!!!!! I would like another sticker also from them stating the they have cleansed my boat .101goodpost101

Same old crap, just another tax. Maybe the states should go after the shipping conpanies that brought this into the states. I know, I am just old and bitchy Grizz

If you go state to state paying the taxes, our boats should be decorative looking with stickers. A form of battle dress. 101whocares101

Don't know about you Roer but I'm going to talk to Mark and Ash this weekend and see if we can get a group rate to have one tattoo'd to our ass, so when they ask us to show them our sticker, we will have some enjoyment showing it to themlaugh hyst.

Lets see:

Clean Boat fee $30.00 In Idaho, they wash your boat before launching ( AT SOME LAKES). At least we get a cleaning for our fee.

Gorge fee: $35.00

Annual out of State Liscence $90.00

Round trip out of state gas trip cost: $130.00 I dont live to far away!

Camping for 5 days. $70.00

Total for a 5 day fishing trip $355.00 HMMMMM!tongue2

getting up there.

Wow! The gorge locals will be happy to note that with those prices, and even higher for my drive, they are at no risk of my company upon their waters. The gorge waters and the koke's therein are safe from the filth of my boat(s) and my jigs.
