Christmas in April!

My new gear came today! Really excited, Has anyone here installed their own remote troll? I consider myself to be pretty handy but haven't ever drilled holes through the transom. I've been searching the internet and see a lot of talk about the drill, fill and re-drill technique. Others just suggest a good slathering of 4200 or 5200 marine sealant. There arn't any real good tips on this issue in the manual for the remote troll so any advice is welcome!
