CQ Salmon Run

I keep hearing CQ is the place to catch salmon this summer. I have a 15' open bow smokercraft and bildge pump. My question is will I be ok at CQ or should I not attempt it? Also my boat has never seen saltwater and Im not sure I want it to. People say that will change the first time I hook a 30lb pink. Any opinions?

You could always rent rather than running your motor in salt water. I read that Curley's resort at Sekiu rents out 16' boats but I'd really watch the weather reports...can get pretty rough.
