There are times while kokanee fishing I like to stationary jig and moving around to different area's is required. Hauling up the 20lb anchor by hand with up to 100' of line out isn't too bad but it can get old after a while. We tried a 15lb anchor of the same design (Navy anchor) but it won't hold in high winds. According to the Digger website their 12 pounder would be more than enough to hold a 15' aluminum boat. The reviews of this anchor sound extremely good....does anyone here use a Digger?

Do you have an open bow? As many guys as have had to build a little platform for their bow mount motor, I would think this could also be done.

The bow is a closed off storage compartment but space is limited up top. I guess i could possible mount it off to the side...now ya got me thinking. 101idea101 Do those things draw alot off the battery?

I have a digger anchor (2 actually) and I don't find it works quite as well as their website says, but still, better than any other anchor I've tried. I have an 18' flat bottom boat that just blows across the water!!

I agree with Bogey. I have one and it works fairly well but not as well as I thought it would. I thought I wouldn't need quite as much anchor line for a proper hook up but really not much different them my other anchors. One thing nice is when you need it to release it comes up easy.

Thanks for the replys. I'm hopeing the 12lb digger will be more than enough for a 15' Smokercraft Alaskan. It should be easier pulling up than the 20lber and 10lbs of chain i've been dealing with...if it will just hold as good.
