What do you think of downrigger weight color?
Is it important or not?

What are you referring to as downrigger, the weight?
If so, I use black pancakes with some uv tape on the fins, have no idea if it helps or not, usually my lure is not close enough to the weight for the weight color to make a difference.
Here's a few pages for you to look at.

I dont see why it wouldnt be a plausible function. Correct me if I am wrong (which happens, Im aware) but doesnt the dodger stimulate the fish by attraction? Does the dodger not simulate a feeding frenzy? Or perhaps aggression? Why would outfitting the rigger ball not do the same thing? I witnessed something really cool when drifting the Sol Duc one year. The silvers where really packed in a huge hole and I would toss a Blue Fox through the hole. During the retrieve one fish would dart toward the spinner and flash it, immediately after that a school of them would attack the livin Jesus out of my spinner and FISH ON! As far as I can tell Thats the same thing we simulate with our dodgers/rigger balls. I dunno, food for thought.
