I'm planning on taking the boat out tomorrow and as I was doing a check down on it, I've already found a few things that need attention before serious fishing time begins. A couple of weeks ago I went out with a friend and noticed a lot of boats at the ramp having mechanical issues due to the winter off. It made me glad that tomorrow is strictly a cob web run. So, this is a reminder to get your boat out prior to actually wanting to get serious about looking for blood on the deck.

Right you are. Funny how things were OK when put up, but then appear mysteriously with no use. We are still a good bit away from getting out the boat here in northern Utah, but my first trip is usually to shake out the cobwebs at the reservoir about 2 miles from my house. Can identify the issues, but not a lot invested if there are problems.

Tell me about it i went out the other day to make sure that the new depth finder was going to be working and low and behold if the screws that hold the wood down didnt strip out. The downrigger must have pulled them out doh! Looks like i'm gonna have to work on it some.

I always tell myself that it is strictly because I have to store my boat outside 24/7/365. If I ever get to store my boat inside and it still happens, I guess chit just happens!
