East Lake - 8/26/2011

Just got back from East Lake. Fish started biting 15 minutes after we hit the water. This was my first time at East Lake. We usually fish Paulina but last week we didn't even get a bite there so we headed to East Lake. We had our limit in a couple hours while trolling. Didn't lose any either. Fish were at 40' or so.

The males are losing their scales and just starting to turn red. I have no clue why fishing is DEAD at Paulina but just fine at East. Then again, I'm new to fishing so most of it is a mystery to me at this point.

Beautiful day up there regardless of the fishing...

What size were the Koks?

Pretty skinny and pretty small compared to the ones we were catching at Wickiup a month ago. I'd say 14"-15". One was about 17" but it was the skinniest Kokanee I've seen yet. Looked kinda goofy.
