What line do you guys run on your rods? I have been using Berkley Sensation, a co-polymer with some stretch, but not as much as mono. Currently 12 lb on the CV15 reels, but may go to 10 lb for the new Vance's 7' rods I have coming.

I generally do my terminal gear with 8 lb Ultra Green. Any other favorites?

Thanks to all for your insights.

I use 100% floroucarbon. thumbsup

When you're always checking for line wear, you have practically an unlimited supply of new line right on your reel.

Think about it - How much old line do we throw away during respooling that has never seen the eyelets of our rods? I'm talking about the stuff that makes up the 1st quarter of the reel spool. Heck, some of mine hardly sees the light of day under a full spool.

I wan't to make full use of my investment 4moremney.

For the price and performance, I run 10 lbs Trilene Big Game at around $8 for 1,500 yards. Leaders are 12 lbs Maxima.

8# Red Cajun Casting line. Have used it for over 8 years now... No Problems. 10# XL Trilene in clear for leaders...

the ol stand by 8lb maxima ultra green... has been a great line for me over the years caught a lot of fish on that stuff.

8lbs high vis P-Line, 12 lbs maxima leader on hoochies, bugs, tubes, 9.2 tectan for leader on lures that provide their own action.

Really don't think there is a bad line on the market.I just filled 4 accudepth ICV 15 DIAWA with ultra green Max 8# really strong stuff have P line on some other reel/ultra green. I like that stuff also. I went to braided line for my jigging reels mostly tuff line did try some Pro line braided for some small ultra light reel I like the no memory on smaller reels. I also go to Sigma for my floro carbon leader lines for my Salmon leader in mulit # test from 20 through 40 . I can't remember the last time I had a failure because of line breaking and I use braided Tuff #50 on all my Salmon reels Shimano TEKOTA 300/500 have to watch your knots on the braided lines I always double the line when tying my knots and never had a problem. and my wife insist it has to be green line she must be right because she out fish's me

I used to use Maxima Green but found it stiff and wouldn't roll off the spool as easily as I'd like when putting out lines.

SUPER D found that true also used Max for a lot of years in the past with heavier #test before braided line, but this 8 ultra grn max I like it and everyone knows max is a strong line just thought I try it. I only had it on for one season (as these are new reels) so far so good.

I used 8# Red Cajun for years just like Kokemachine but have found that it's just not the same line since Zebco took it over from Shakespeare. It was a great line but I've had a few issues since. It's a confidence thing with me so I started testing some new lines last year and found that the Suffix Siege in smoke green held up the best. It's small dia. for a mono. with some stretch and it also loaded very well onto the reels. I also like the way it holds up in the releases. Loaded 10# on 2 reels, 8# on 2 others. So far it's a winner.

I run 10lb Vanish and then 8lb Vanish leader. I retie the ends a few times a season and i don't have any problems. I won't go more than three years in between respooling.
