First Koke outing...first koke landed ...American

After getting the new/used little lund a couple months ago...the wife and I fished several lakes for trout and done well.

I wanted KOKES...but the wife wanted to sleep in...understandable as she does not have the fishing monkey (river and now lake) on her back as I do.

Launched at the crack of 11:30...lowered the manual DR down to 44ft (60 ft back), and hit 1.4mph on the Lowrance.. with a Dick Nite pink splatter and the creation of the General...the Rastical. Unsure of what I was doing as it was my first time fishing american....but 15minutes later after seeing some solid marks go by on the Lowrance...DING DING DING. .."wow feels pretty big...must be trout?" Cartwheel..flash...flip....I shove my rod in the water to get the fish down. It's my first Koke and a good one.

After a couple runs my wife nets it like a pro.....17 1/2" of kokanee chrome! I was JACKED. This fish was nothing compared to the 21" caught here on the 4th of July...but to me it was my first...at HIGH NOON...no less.
Thanks to all those here who helped me with my stupid questions...this was the only koke of the day...no surprise being mid day. The lake is LOUSY with trout.

Thanks all....I was so jacked! when my wife netted this fish. I was thinking about the MONSTER you pulled out of the same water just a couple days before TrollNFisher. A couple minutes later marked some fish....when the rastical got to them (had line 65ft back)....Ding..Ding...Ding.

Thanks again for the help of all here. Granted it was the only Koke of the day (if you want trout American is PACKED with them)...and the first of what I hope to be MANY kokanee in my life.

And the Meat...it does live up to the hype...WOW!
