My bride and I spent our 41st anniversary today on a guided Walleye trip on the Columbia. The weather was perfect, overcast until about noon and no wind to speak of. The fish were not really biting for us or anyone else we talked to but were able to land 4 nice ones, the largest being 23.5 inches and just shy of 5lbs.

As fare as lures go, think wedding ring, in fact a wedding ring would work. What we used were some the guide made and his most productive color is chartruese. He used a double hook setup much like we do for konanee only the hooks were set back just a little from the beads and the hooks were farther apart than a koke rig. Thread both hooks through a worm so it follows through the water like a snake and thats it.

We stayed in water 12-25 feet deep and trolled from 1-4mph moving just faster than the current to keep everything in line.

Our guide was fantastic taking all the time we needed to learn technique and rigging and took us to several of the hotter spots on the river between the 205 bridge and Camas WA. He really went out of his way to make sure we had a good time.

Now I need to make some walleye lures and get the other equipment needed for this fishery. I see another tackle box in my future.tooexcited

We went with Roger and you know who I mean, in fact, he was ordering worms while we were fishingthumbsup.

And yes, all fish were bled.

Not wanting to give up your guide? No rules against stating who you went with.
