I need a new fish finder I fish at Flaming Gorge for mostly Kokes, Macs, I want color gps don't know much about down imaging would like to stay under 800.00 I would appreciate any help you can give me.

I'm partial to lowrance , if I was to buy something in that price range it probably would be an elite 7. or an hds 5 I think both have gps and the elites have down imaging . all though I have found it not to be that effective for kokanee and lake trout fishing

LOVE my Lowrance Elite 7 HDI....GPS, Sonar, Down Scan ...$600. GREAT System...did a lot of research before my purchase.

This shot just has sonar and Down scan. I can choose all three (including chart)
You can see the school on the sonar left, and down scan on the right.

BTW....hooked up when my gear went through them thumbsup

You might want to check out the Raymarine Dragonfly. Some good demos of it on the internet. Have had mine since September and love the fact that it has GPS, sonar and downscan . Also uses the CHIRP technology. I think the price point is about $650 right now. A newer version is being released with a 7" screen. Best of luck with your research.

Humminbird SI series have side imaging. Very helpful in finding schools of small fish. It will also find shallow fish that standard down scan will miss. thumbsup
