Fished Flaming Gorge with Max today and will be hitting it again tomorrow morning. We caught several kokanee with a few turning red. Caught several small mack's also. Wild Horse was good to us today. Fishing 80 feet deep and slow using Tequilla Sunrise, and Clown Dakota spinners. I was suprised and glad to get a small and I mean small 4" Kokanee off of a dakota spinner. It is nice seeing those small kokanee not getting consumed by the lake trout and burbot.

Looks Great

Planning on heading there this weekend. The weather is supposed to be nice. I have fished for rainbows mostly and giving Kokanee a try. I caught a few earlier this year by accident during the derby. This should be fun and exciting since it will be the first time out in my boat on that lake.

I must admit that is the smallest catch I've ever seen at that lake in over 30 years. But I agree, if it has survived, I'm sure there are more and that is great news. Wildhorse has produced some great fish for me this year also. The key is to be able to wait the bite out. I've had days this year where the bite hasn't started until late in the day and I'm usually on the water by the time the sky starts to turn pink. It's hard to say on them for several hours without any bites, but when it starts, it's fast and furious.

Looks like your fishing with live bait there, Colton. It's hard to believe one that small would be that aggressive at that size. We'll be over there Labor Day Weekend for one last trip. Thanks for the report.
