I was at Flaming Gorge last summer and i seen alot of people trolling for macks using some kind of really big lake trolls does anyone know what they were and where you can get them? Also do you know what they were using for lures when using the big cow bells or trolls? Do you know what they are called? Going back this summer and would like to have some of them as the people using them were doing quite well. OK thank you

There are lots of brands and styles of large blade trolls. Did you see the shape of the blades?

i usually use large dave davis trolls but the are hard to pull in we picked up a couple of sets of hand made trolls in manila just about every shop in town carries them they have very large aluminum blades and cost about 30 bucks a set. we had good success with them and are very easy to reel in be cause the blades fold back when you reel them .

We run the large trolls off the downrigger cable with short set backs. Macks don't fight hard to begin with to have to wench them in with the trolls.

the beauty of those trolls is there is almost no resistance when you reel them in allowing you to feel the fight and use a lot longer set back

they sell them in every shop in manila , i got mine at the chevron , they are hanging up on a hook and not packaged at all , i have been runnig a squid , or a black and sliver j-13 rapala 30' back 1.2 mph at 5' off the bottom . here is a picture you have to play with the set back i usually run 18 inches from the pop gear
