RL ,I've been using smaller(3mm) or so glass beads for spinners. You definitely can find lots of cool looking glass beads..The smaller ones have worked well, but I've had trouble with larger ones chewing up my leaders.101chromefish101101chromefish101 TM
Yes I have. They are heavier than the plastic beads. I use 3-6mm beads. I have never had any problem with them roughing up the leader from the ones I buy.
RL, some of the bigger beads I've tried are rough .If you get some try holding the line tight and running the bead up and down to see if it does any damage.Wedding ring type spinners don't seem to last long for me and I don't want to do anything to tear them up before the fish do.101chromefish101 TM
I meant to mention something I recently started using to thread beads. I tie flies and it finally hit me that the bobbin threader might be helpful with beads. It is a lot easier for me to get the beads on the fine wire bobbin threader than on mono.Just stack the beads on the wire then pull the leader through. 101idea101 TM
RL I've been using quick change clevises which are plastic. I would figure they are easier on mono leaders, plus you can switch blades if you want.101chromefish101
