My fishing partner(d-weed) and I hit the water about 7/a this morning . Cloudy with a gently breeze, and air temps about 49degs. Motored out of squaw hollow and headed across the lake towards the cliffs, stopped the boat about a 100 yards from shore and headed south. I started with a RMT dodger in pink, with a RMT squid in pink. 80 ft off the ball ,20 ft down. D-weed started with a RMT pink splatter dodger, with a RMT pink smelly jelly squid, 75ft off the ball ,30 ft down. Speed was about 1.5-1.7 mph. No sooner got a fresh cup of joe poured and boom!!! fish on. Nice 3 lb male koke, it's going to be a good day said D-weed, and it was . We boated 15 fish, while only keeping 5 for the box. Most of the fish were 2 1/2 -3 1/2 lb, lots of aerobatics, tail walking and a few making deep hard pulls, heading towards the bottom. We experimented with some different colors, I had limited success using a small RMT orange dodger, with tequila sunrise serpent spoon ,while d-weed went to a orange dodger, with a orange RMT squid. But we both ended up going back to pink. We called it a day about noon as it looked like the storm was going to come in on top of us. Water temp was 51.6 degs when we started and about the same when we quit. Only seen a handful of other boats, don't know how they did. Was my best day this year so far,and it's only going to get better.
