We were also out this last weekend. We fished near Anvil Draw Friday evening, Saturday morning (Before the thunderstorms!) and Sunday morning. I've never struggled to find decent kokes on the gorge until this last Friday and Saturday. Lake trout seemed to be everywhere and more than willing to bite. On Friday, found heavy koke marks, but couldn't get them to go. On Saturday, all the boats seemed to be scattered as well as the fish. We only ended up with 5 small kokes and covered lots of ground to get those. They made for a great camp dinner that night. The neighboring campers we spoke with didn't do much either.
Sunday was quite a bit different story. The first koke (a fat 20.5") hit as the line was being set. We fished from 7:00 - 10:30. We ended up with 8 nice kokes in the box (see pics), one 3lb rainbow and about 7 lakers (only kept 2 - 4lbers). Only two kokes were under 3lbs. Instead of the usually rod shakes, the kokes were ripping the lines out of the riggers and peeling line.
Sunday we fished between Middle Marsh and Ranch House. The bite was mixed across my lures: Echip with a pink devil hoochie, Echip with an orange RMT squid, brass dodger and pink squid, aven allen with orange. All tipped with pink gulp maggots. Bites came from 48ft to 68. Concentration of marks were from 50-65 ft on the graph.
Hope this helps someone... Or at least make them feel better if they had a ****ty bite on Saturday!
