We made our last trip to the Gorge this last weekend, fishing out of Buckboard on Thursday and Friday and Lucerne on Saturday.

Thursday, we caught 20 fish, mostly kokanee with a mix of nice rainbows. Most fish came on green first thing and then orange or pink later in the morning. We didn't start catching the bigger fish until after 9 am, some shallower than the smaller kokes. We were off the water around 12:30 due to the weather.

Friday, we fished the same area and caught 15 fish, but almost half were small macks. It seemed odd that we didn't catch any macks on Thursday and didn't catch any rainbows on Friday. Same results as the day before on the bigger kokes not hitting until later in the morning. We were off the water by 1:00 again because the boys were getting antsy on the boat.

Saturday morning we decided to head down to Lucerne to catch some macks since we had our limits of kokes and rainbows. We fished half a day, had one hook-up, but never got it to the boat.

We caught 4 kokes over 4 lbs, with most fish around 3 lbs. We caught a few nice pinkish/red kokes and one bright red one that was only 13 inches. There weren't very many people fishing out of Buckboard, but hundreds down in Lucerne. We had a hard time finding a place to park, even at 6:00 in the morning.

Yep. There is nothing finer than a smile on a child holding big fish. Memories that will last a life time.awesomereport

The boys had a great time fishing and swimming. My nephew tried to jump off the boat while trolling, but we caught him just in time. He is only 4 and really wanted to go back to shore to play. He also wouldn't hold any of the fish so I didn't get many pictures of him.

My 5 year-old doesn't mind getting his hands slimy and I couldn't keep him out of the fish cooler laugh hyst

I would say they qualify for the KFF home slide show. Just love that smile with the Kokes. Picture perfect. thumbsup
