I have fished Flaming Gorge twice in the last 3 weeks and had some great fishing. The fishing was not as fast as earlier in the year, but we caught some nice fish. The hot lure was a pink apex behind a chrome/brass Jensen dodger off lead core. I don't like fishing with lead core but this setup accounted for 40 percent of the fish we caught. White and orange RMT squids and dodgers were the other hot rigs. We landed 10 or 11 on Saturday morning, dropped another 4 or 5. We went 14 of 16 the weeks before. We were fishing just south of breeze hill. The fishing does drop off after around 9:30, so get out there early !!image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Looks and sounds like you had a great trip, thanks for posting the pictures, the hat has to go though, Just kidding AKA "PACKFAN" laugh hyst. The wife and I are after Bambi with our bows now so fishing has been set aside. Good luck on your next trip.

That is my lucky fishing hat !! I have been a long suffering Vikings fan since the 70s. Thanks for all the washed up players....long well, farve, Jennings !!! I think that was my last Gorge trip for this year. I live in Jackson, and I would rather drive the 4 hours to fish for Kokes that fish the lakes and rivers up here !!

A 4hr trip is worth it if you can make 3-4days worth your while. I have done 4 1day trips @ 3hrs each way. That takes a toll by the end of the day, especially when you come straggling back home about midnight.
