Had decent success yesterday. Decided to try the afternoon shift for a change. Put in at Thistle Creek and motored across to the opposite shore. Had a fish on before I got the second rod in the water. Ended up with constant action for the next two hours. Fish were running deep at 55' to 65', and were averaging a little smaller than normal. After an hour + slowdown that started at 5:30 we found they had moved up and started getting bites again. Used several flavors of corn, nightcrawlers and maggots, but didn't seem to make much of a difference as long as corn was somewhere in the recipe. Had good luck with the Pro Cure Predator & Corn gel scents also. We did loose or fail to hook up more often than normal. I'm sure we lost more than we landed this time. All but one bite were on the deeper of the downrigger rods.
Really nice to not have to roll out of bed at 4am...

awesomereportFriday was a pretty good day also. Worked around the perimeter from 5 am to noon, with downriggers tripped 5 times with stolen bait, and two in the boat. I worked down the inlet across from the island and had several schools on the finder but no bites. All holding between 45 and 55 feet. ended up down at the end and found 4 schools in session. Marked them on the gps and started working a pattern. Wind was a fight even down there, but managed to pick up at least one on every rotation. Had a lot of doubles but only could capitalize on one of them. Added to the excitement and fun of a solo fishing trip. Caught on 5.5 inch shasta dodger and pink hoochie. They were pretty loose lipped today. Lots more shake offs than usual and a little smaller fish, but still nice 10 to 13 inch fish. Went home with 11 nice fish, and a sunburn that has my skin as pink as that beautiful Kokanee filet on the barbeque. Found best success the past 3 weeks with pro cure shrimp and prawn oil soaked shoepeg corn.101chromefish101
