like 'kokadale', I am new to this forum and I am planning to do some fishing at Green Peter Lake next summer, most likely camping at Whitcomb Creek County Park and launching our boat from there.

we used to troll for kokanee in N.Idaho and Montana so I understand the basics.

I greatly appreciate any special tips, from the forum experts here, on kokanee fishing at Green Peter Lake, especially in the May-June-July time frame...

cheers, roger

I live in Bend and have fam in Albany so I am always going by Green Peter and everytime I tell myself I need to get a line wet here. Is the tackle pretty much the same aa I use over here around Bend? Radical Glow tubes and Hoochies.

Green Peter kokes seem to favor Pink and Orange, hoochies and tubes work great. As far as where to fish on the lakes, just head for the gatherings of boats.

Do some searchs on this forum, you will find lots of stuff from years past that is still valid.

When I fish Green Peter I normally just follow David Martin around with some high quality binoculars. I can quickly figure out what is working and where the fish are at. Don't let him fool you he has a Big Selection of kokanee tackle and uses more than just Pink & Orange hoochies.

Can't wait to have David give me a bad time that he got on the lake before me again...

You want me call you when I leave the house? :)

So if I wanted to attend the Kokanee Power Of Oregon and the DERBY at GP on May 19th coming from Gresham, OR, where would you recommend we stay?

Most that will be camping will stay at Sunnyside Park at Foster Lake. You can reserve through Linn County Parks. There is really not a great campground at GP, small spaces, loud neighbors. GP is not a lake where you can beach your boat at the campground.

As far as September, it is still okay but right on the edge of too late. That late in the summer it would be better to go to Odell.
