I've just returned from G.P. camping on the bank of the Lake and had a real blast. We found a nice spot in a small cove, beached the boat, then set up a small camp no tent! We slept out under the stars, I used my cot & sleeping bag while Kent went the whole way with a Queen Size Air Bed!!
We were supposed to be roughing it! laugh hyst
The fishing was good but on the first day we made the mistake of fishing the wrong schools of smaller fish & kept trying to get larger ones. We were at the east end near a creek that entered the lake. Its hard to leave a spot when you are seeing & catching so many fish. When I realized that the schools were all next years fish we moved to the west side closer to the dam and found big schools of larger fish. It was fish on from then on! They were all 13"-15" & in good shape! We caught most of them on pink/blue hoochies and Sling Blades with pink maggots.

awesomereport How deep were you fishing for the larger koks? How far from the dam were the bigger schools of larger fish? We might take a trip down there later this week. Depends on how hot is going to get!!!!! Thanks, Kokaneegal

We were fishing mid way between the island and the dam. Most fish were caught between 55-60' trolling at 1.4 mph
