I used to think I knew how to catch kokes, what is everyone using? I used everything from various gang gear with wedding rings of various colors, shrimp and corn, fire corn only, with and without scents, hoochies with both sling blade and gang gear. Would really appreciate any advice you are willing to share.
Thanks,
Dutch

spring time with all this cold rain and snow meltoff, go shallow.
Their food source this time of year is 100% algae which comes up to no deeper than 10 ft to get energy from sunlight.

It takes alot to stir kokes tiny pea brains into territory food protection response attacks this early and in water below 50d F, no energy.

put a bright Smile blade on in front of that hoochie or try a double blade home made wedding ring. try different colors of blades, I've been having good luck with gold on these dark overcast rainy days.

vary your speed until you find what they like.
use a GPS, critical to speed setting.
somewhere between 1 > 2 mph. in spring they seem to like slower in the cold water. 1>1.5 is a good starting point. most guys troll way to fast in cold spring water.
get a fish, note the position and lock the speed in. crank the boat around while landing the fish.
go back over the same spot
continue same until the bite moves.
