Has anyone used these? It is something I am considering as I hook up alone in the dark very often. In addition, my boat will be parked on gravel and with a 300# tongue weight it won't be the easiest to move around. It's not one of those things that is essential, but could sure save getting in and out of the pickup several times. (am I lazy?) My main concern is that during tight turns the hitch could hit the wings of the guide maybe.

After banging my bumper good a few times I've really thought about getting one of those. I think it would be good as long as you establish a mark on your jack so that you know you are at approx. the right height.

dave if at home you can put down a wheel chock or 4x4 so you can see it at the edge of your tire and when you have it in the right spot and back into it you should be in the right spot, when in gravel you can draw a line at the back and side of the rear tire and back into that. I have air shocks with a wireless remote and air up drop my jack then air down and drive away without having to crank up or down. my TJ is heaver than your outboard and having a jack with duel wheels makes moving the tong a lot easer. Costco used to have back up cameras for just under 100 bucks and mounts to your license plate. they work well I had one on the excursion . dfly

I put one on my boat trailer, no ball just the mast, but for loading the boat. because the nose is so long on the TJ. it's almost 3' past and over the winch and stop it was hard to know where center was when loading the boat hot. so now I just center it between the c.r. anchor and bump into it and I know I can hook up the winch and safety chain and the nose is centered. dfly
