The wife and I are taking her father fishing at the gorge all next week for Macks, Kokes, and one night of ling up north. I was just wondering how the koke fishing was up around the upper half of the reservoir. I would take a PM if you don't want to share to the entire world and I am willing to share what I learn...101chromefish101

Thanks in advace

When you say upper half of reservoir, where are you in reference to? The best fishing for kokes is on the Wyoming side starting north of the pipeline, Anvil Draw, Wildhorse Canyon, Middle Marsh on the south end of the ranch, Big Bend, Skunk Cliffs & Squaw Hollow outside of Buckboard. Hope this helps.

We went out last weekend and did pretty well. Saturday started slow as we stayed up north by Buckboard and into Confluence with just a few fish. After about 2-3 hours of extremely slow fishing with all the other boats in the area, we headed south full out down to anvil and fished between there and Squaw Hollow-(we did well around there last time out). We saw immediate success-we caught 2 that were well over 3 lbs and brought 9 kokes to the boat on Saturday and missed about half as much with them breeching/giving the old shake before I could get to the pole. Sunday was better-we headed for the same area and did and had success imediately. We had 4 triples on the downriggers going though certain waymarks and had to leave a pole until we got to it-I run 3 downriggers and it just me and my wife most of the time. Once again, we had kokes that would go to the surface and shake the hook before we could get to the pole. We brought 13 kokes to the boat and lost about 6. We also caught 3-4 pup macs but let them go. We got off of the water just after 1pm-after that a wicked wind came up. I had some family up at Dutch John and we had a barbeque Sat night-I tried to get them to come with us on Sunday but no one had WY fish stamps. It was a nice evening-perfect weather.

We caught almost all our fish at 39 to 43 feet using RMT fusion and fire/ice dodgers using pink glow squids and their new pink metallic squids-(pearl white was the color of choice for us 2 weeks ago). We ran into Jared on Friday night at the dock and he gave my wife a few of the pink metallic to try. She wouldn't let them go after catching some of our first kokes with them! We also picked our speed up to just over 2 mph at times.

Sorry Outdoorsman for the late info-hopefully you will see this and it might help you-I just haven't had a chance to post or get pictures up since we got back-too much work!
