Skunk that is. My wife and I fished Willard Bay on Sunday 5-4. Launched outa the south marina about 7AM and headed over towards the feedlot. We dragged various worm harnesses and some small rapalas and jigs doing about .8 to 1.0 with the electric motor. Never graphed a fish nor hooked into anything. We fished in depths from 3ft up to 10 ft., headed over towards freeway bay with same results. Liars on tv said to expect wind gusts of up 30 mph so we tried to stay close to south marina. About 11 am we turned on the gas kicker and bumped the speed up to 3mph and headed to the south dike and up towards the west dike, still not marking any fish. My wife asked if the fishfinder was not working. We finally gave up at 3 pm and headed in. While we were in the parking lot a guy showed up next to us explaining how it was crazy out there today and how he couldn't keep them off. He then told us were he was fishing at along with speed and lure selection. My wife says lets go back out. Relaunched the boat and headed over to secret spot and within 15 minutes my wife hooked into a nice walleye and it was game on. About 7 we called it a night the biting bugs were getting bad. We ended the day with 2 limits of wipers and only 2 walleyes, but we did lose a few on the way to the boat. We would like to thank the mystery guy for his help.
