Ice conditions at Flaming Gorge

We were fishing from shore near Anvil Draw today and the temp got up to the low 50s. Don't think that much ice will form in those conditions.

The rainbows were biting pretty good. We caught 10 and kept 6. We were using marshmallows and worms for bait.

I drove down to the Confluence today to check for possible ice starting to form but nothing yet. A friend told me that the Firehole was iced over but this is second hand info.

The ramp and cove at firehole were ice locked yesterday, 11/29. There were people on the ice in the cove. About 50 yards from the ramp, the water was wide open. There were patches of ice here and there downstream, but way more open water than ice.

Water at the confluence was 38 degrees, down almost ten degrees from two weeks ago. Overnight temps were in the low single digits.

We stopped by Lucerne Marina today and the ice at the ramp was just a very thin film laying on the water. The ramp however was ice covered and slick. There were 2 boats fishing in Linwood Bay.

Regards
