Stopped by Boulton yesterday to see if they were about ready to start on my boat and found out they were well underway. Should be ready for paint next week and delivered mid February. The long wait is nearly at an end. More pictures are in my gallery if you are interested.

I'm no dummy, will be named after the wife.worthy12

From the very start of discussing the new boat she kept telling me to get it right the first time, spec it exactly like I wanted, get the options I wanted and outfit it the way I wanted. She was supper supportive and was right beside me when I ordered it and made a couple factory visits with me. I tend to "make do" sometimes and she wanted to make sure that did not happen. I am one lucky guy.

Ya, it was $$$ but hey, I was just following orders!101bananna101

Dave, did you go with the st or terrova. I ordered the st w/ I-pilot today after talking with the minn kota rep. bms had them for 1479. and change also picked up 2 cannon digi 5s to replace the 2 Scotties I sold, on sale for 715 along with some accs. after looking at the gear setup on the 2 I mounted for my buddies I decided to go with a shorter but fuller fin so there is not so much drag and less stress on the turning motor and gears inside the minn kota . I will be using it only when the wind picks up and the tr-1 can't hold corse, and for the the spot lock feature . but it will be interesting to see how the minn kota and the tr-1 get along together in the wind or if I will just use the minn kota for steering and the Yamaha as propulsion and speed control. dfly

I pickup the 101 Rip Tide Minnkota I pilot LATE last year I'm extremely happy I did. It's a bow mount model your going to be very happy with your 80 Terrova. That 36 volt system I did add 3 Oddseys batterys I am able to troll at like 1/4 mile an hour WE TROLL FOR STEELHEAD on the John Day a lot with a bobber and coontail shrimp its extremely deadly, and Mrs Claus also pick me up the dig 5 Cannons for Christmas I'm working on adding to my sled at present Mrs Claus was tired of stacking I know have two Mini elec Cannon for the stern and two 5 dig elec located in the middle of my boat. I did picked up the bigger or longer booms to stager length for trolling. HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY. I'm leaving the cable's on the Cannons I'm not switching over to a braided line Vs Cable talked to a few friends who have changed over they advised really can't see much of a difference so I decided to leave them alone.

Still looking at a mid-February delivery, I did not know time could move so slow. Cabin fever and anticipation is a bad combination to have.tooexcited

DLM,

That looks like a great set-up. A lot like what I am doing with my new one. I had the 80 Terrova on my Lund with the I-Pilot. I would never have a boat without it again. It really changes the fishing experience. Especially if you are fishing alone. I am having it put on the new Thunderjet with the addition of the LINK so I can control it from the FF.

I will agree with DFLY though. Most of the time you end up pointing it one way and just going. I haven't done much in the way of routes or anything. I will work on that this year.

If I can make one humble suggestion. Make sure you have a decent charging system. The one I had before was a little on the light side. (3 batts at 6amp each) It would have trouble getting a full charge in if you ran hard the day before and turned around expecting to do it a second day. I am sure you are way ahead of me on that but thought it was worth mentioning.

I can't wait to see pictures of the black and white when they paint it!

The minn kota will not be used for power, only steering. I have a friend that uses his that way with the kicker supplying all forward motion and he can go several days without charging the batteries for the electric. We will see, everyday is a learning process.

Hey, somebody has to help this along - I think you can call us REAL AMERICANS.......or real stupid, I'm just not sure yet...tooexcited
