Any one ever tried jigging at Merwin or Yale? It has been on my things to try list for a while but, I have never tried it.

I've seen discussions on this before and had the same question myself. The general theme seemed to be that no one has tried it but no one knows why it wouldn't work. I can generally find and catch fish on the troll and just don't buck the system when mine is working. I also fear if I decide to try it how much more gear I'll think I need for a technique that may or may not work.

Just ordered a few jigs, never hurts to try something new, I figure once they start going deeper and schooling up where you can see them on the FF, might be a good time to park over them and give it a shot.

Don't limit yourself to vertical jigging when they go deep. There are other ways to jig 'em even when they are in the top water.

I knew there had to be some one with some knowledge around here...I usually have room in the boat for a couple extra people if you ever want to go for a ride. 101ok101 If memory serves me right you have a daughter that likes to fish? Would be fun to sit back and let the kids have at it while we talk shop!
