I have a Shimano Talora for trolling but want to find a firmer rod for jigging. I plan on targeting Kokes this summer out of my kayak and it seems getting down to them at depth would be much easier jigging than trolling. Cabelas makes a couple of models of 6'6" to 7' Med. casting rods rated in the 8-12lbs. range seems about right for jigging heavier weight lures. Just wondering what you all use.

For jigging the Berkley Tactix Drop Shot/Finesse Model#TXS661MLF. The pole is 6.6' medium light spinning with a sensitive tip and good backbone for solid hook sets. It's rigged up with 10' of 6lb Maxima Ultragreen for leader and Tuf-Line XP Indicator color metered braid (changes color every 10'.)
