After watching some YouTube videos of guys jigging for kokes I've decided to give it a go this year. I think I've for a pretty good handle on the equipment part of it, but with any new technique little tips can make a big difference. Got any?

My advice would be to spend no longer than a half hour doing one technique. Try vertical jigging targeting suspended fish, casting out to jumpers, vertical jigging targeting fish right off the bottom, wind drift jigging with a sea anchor going after suspended kokes, and if all else fails get the downrigger balls wet and troll. Some days and times of year they just aren't that interested in jigs... if things are slow don't waste too much time even if it worked the week before... try something different. When jigging try different rod tip lifts... most of the time a lift of only 6" to a foot will do it with a twitch every so often. They hit as the jig falls so be ready! For a better feel of the light biters and for getting a solid hook-up try braided line with a 10' section of mono leader.

There is some good info in this brochure. I'm not trying to sell you something, it's just that the brochure is 8 pages long, a little too much info to put into this thread. Also if you have the STS magazine issue for June July the info is there, shelter cove lodge has copies also.
The short answer is to fish Odell, or Cresent early morning and late evening in April, May and June with 1/2 oz jigs. Work hard on your electronics. Generally speaking the shallower the fish are the more likely they are to bite. PM me if you need more specifics.

Thanks for all the tips and tricks!!! The booklet that you sent me was an awesome read. A lot of really good info there. I can't wait to try it this summer.
