I hadn't picked up my fly rod in 20 plus years or tied a fly. Someone gave me thier fly tying materials about a month ago and a few weeks ago I looked at what I was given, what I had and went and got a whole bunch more and started tying flies again. Guess it's like learning to ride a bike. I was cranking out shop quality flies within days. Never was much of a fly fisher but loved to tie flies. Anyhow I dug through the garage and found my old fly rod. I had to replace the top guide and take apart the reel and clean it just to free it up. I'm on vacation and was bored today and I live just 10 mins. from the Kalama so went to give her a try. I tied on a #6 Max Canyon and nailed a native steelhead that was really darker than the ace of spades of about 14 lbs. About a hour later I hooked a nice cromer of a summer run that cart wheeled all over the place only to come unbuttoned sliding him up on shore and try as I might I wasn't able to corral it before it was able to escape. 2nd fish took a #4 Undertaker. I was fishing a T200 Teeny sink tip swinging and unweighted barbless flies. Felt good to be bent to the handle again.memememememe
